Nether Heyford
Pre-School
About
Nether Heyford Pre-School is a vibrant and dynamic provider of early years education. Established for many years, the pre-school is a popular choice with local residents and parents from neighbouring villages and fosters strong links with local businesses and organisations. In particular, we work closely with local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition from pre-school to school for all our children.
The pre-school provides sessional day care for children aged 2 to 5 years old in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. We are open 5 days a week for 38 weeks a year and our opening hours are 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday. All children attending the setting are registered with us and attend regular sessions each week.We also offer pay-as-you-go drop-in sessions for children registered with us, subject to available capacity. We encourage parents to book these at least 24 hours in advance to ensure that a space is available. We offer transition sessions for children in their first term at the local primary school whereby they attend school for either the morning or afternoon session and pre-school for the remainder of the day. Pre-school staff provide a school collection and drop off service for children accessing this facility.
The pre-school is established as a registered charity and is run by a committee of parent volunteers. As a provider of early years education and childcare, we are registered with and regulated by Ofsted and we work closely with advisors from Northamptonshire County Council to ensure that we meet all of our obligations under the relevant regulations. We strive to achieve best practice in all we do and regularly review our operations to identify areas for improvement or development.Along with the Business Manager, the parent committee are responsible for managing the strategic direction of the pre-school as well as ensuring that day to day operations are run efficiently and effectively thereby securing the pre-school’s long term future.
